An exciting opportunity has arisen at Prestonfield Primary School for an enthusiastic Pupil Support Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be someone who is nurturing in their approach and is capable of building positive relationships with our pupils, parents and staff.

Pupil Support Assistants are required to join the Support for Learning team assisting and encouraging students with the ultimate aim of maximising attainment and support for all pupils. For a Pupil Support Assistant, this is a highly rewarding environment where you will play a key role in supporting children's learning, development and emotional wellbeing.

Prestonfield Primary School is a warm, inclusive primary school and nursery located in the south-east of Edinburgh. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued and supported to succeed. At the heart of Prestonfield's ethos is a strong focus on wellbeing, inclusion and positive relationships.

Pupil Support Assistants do not work during the 12 weeks of school holidays; however, total salary is paid in 12 equal monthly payments over the year. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
