Gylemuir Primary School is looking for a Pupil Support Assistant to join our talented support team.

Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro‑rated for part‑time and sessional). Hours: 27.25 per week, 39 weeks sessional.

Working pattern: Monday to Thursday 8:40 a.m. – 3:20 p.m. (with 45 min of unpaid breaks) and Friday 8:40 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (with a 15 min unpaid break).

Responsibilities include supporting pupils with additional support needs to access education and ensuring their care and wellbeing needs are met. You will be flexible and provide support and assistance in the day‑to‑day operation of the school as directed by the leadership team. The support needs may include social, emotional and behavioural needs, requiring support for dysregulation behaviour.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Any person who has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years must provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check. An unconditional offer of employment will be conditional upon the satisfactory outcome of these pre‑employment checks.
