Pupil Support Assistant Dalry Primary School – 5 minutes walk from Haymarket Station. Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro‑rata for part‑time and sessional). 26.08 hours per week, 39 weeks sessional. Contract: Permanent & Fixed Term Post until 29/06/2027. Hours: Mon‑Thurs 08:50‑15:15 (15+30 minute break), Fri 08:50‑12:30 (15 minute break).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in meeting the educational, care and welfare needs of all pupils.
  • Support pupils with additional support needs to access the curriculum on a one‑to‑one basis.
  • Provide support, assistance and encouragement in classroom, playground and throughout the school learning environment.
  • Work outdoors and indoors across all floors of a Victorian building with multiple stairs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience as a Pupil Support Assistant and supporting children with additional support needs.
  • Good basic education; Maths and English to SQA standard grade level or equivalent.
  • Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.

Required Checks:

  • Regulated work with children and protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
  • Preferred candidate will join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG update check.
  • Overseas Criminal Record Check for those who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more abroad in the last 5 years.
