Salary: £34,452 - £40,501 (pro-rata for part‑time)

Hours: 18 per week

The post-holder will undertake the full range of duties working with children who need protection, are looked after or are children in need, along with their families/carers. The role adopts a strengths‑based and restorative approach to build positive relationships, identify outcomes required to keep children safe and develop plans to improve wellbeing for children and their families/carers.

The post is located in the PrePare Team, a multi‑disciplinary team in partnership with NHS Lothian, Health and Social Care and Communities and Families. The aim is to support families affected by addiction during pregnancy and within the child's first two years. The post is based in Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre; however, the service is provided citywide, so the post-holder must have the ability to travel throughout the city.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Individuals who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years will need to provide an overseas criminal record check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to satisfactory outcomes of these pre‑employment checks.
