We are looking for a proactive, detail-orientated and customer-focused Events Coordinator to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver a wide range of commercial conferences, events and functions across the University of Manchester's diverse portfolio of venues. Working as part of our Conferences, Venues and Hospitality team, you will play a key role in ensuring exceptional client experiences while contributing to the continued success and growth of our conference and events operations.
You will be responsible for:
- Coordinating conferences, meetings, functions and events from planning stages through to successful delivery.
- Building strong relationships with clients and ensuring their requirements are met through effective planning and communication.
- Managing event administration, including quotations, contracts, invoices, and maintaining accurate event records.
- Working closely with colleagues across Hospitality & Events and the wider University to deliver high-quality services and facilities.
- Supporting event operations on-site, supervising operational staff where required and ensuring service standards, health and safety requirements, and client expectations are consistently achieved.

About You
We encourage applications from individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. You should demonstrate:
- A qualification in a hospitality/events related subject, or professional qualification(s) combined with demonstratable professional skill and/or knowledge gained through relevant industry experience.
- Conference/Hospitality service and skills gained in a similarly diverse environment providing conference services on a similar scope and scale.
- Evidence of readily accepting individual accountability and effective use of initiative.
- Ability to manage and prioritise your own workload.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements relevant to events or hospitality operations.
