Join the Home Accessibility Referral Team (HART) as an Assessment Officer. The HART’s role is to assess housing applicants with mobility issues, ensuring they receive Gold Priority to access social housing that meets their needs. This fixed‑term (12 months) position is needed to manage a growing number of applicants, including those also assessed as homeless, and to support rapid assessment and placement.

Responsibilities

  • Screen EDIndex forms to determine eligibility for Gold Priority
  • Undertake housing needs assessments for eligible applicants
  • Liaise with HART occupational therapists regarding assessed needs and property type recommendations
  • Support applicants in accessing suitable homes
  • Nominate applicants for accessible council homes during the current allocation policy suspension
  • Provide housing options advice
  • Manage a caseload
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and improve service delivery
  • Jointly work with partner agencies to achieve best outcomes for clients
