Salary: £34,452 - £40,501

Hours: 36 per week

Shift times: Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 15:45, Friday 07:30 – 12:30 (including an unpaid 30‐minute break).

Responsibilities

  • Lead, organise and manage a team of Skilled Roadworkers, Specialists, Semi‐Skilled and Trainee Roadworkers, including subcontractors and agency staff.
  • Oversee construction and maintenance services for roads, footways and other works, ensuring a high standard of quality and safety.
  • Respond to a wide range of emergency situations, including winter gritting operations.
  • Lead by example, undertaking skilled road works tasks and providing on‐site training and development for Trainee Roadworkers.
  • Manage occasional overtime and winter maintenance duties to increase earnings.
  • Support Roads Operations in maintaining roads to the highest standards.

Qualifications

  • Vast experience in a roads environment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong leadership and team‐management skills.
  • Capability to train and develop trainee road workers.
