Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks
Shift Pattern: Four on Four off Rotational Shift Pattern from 09:30am until 20:15pm (90 minutes unpaid break)

Responsibilities:
- Cleaning of public toilets, including all surfaces, floors, fixtures and fittings to ensure facilities are clean, hygienic and serviceable.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Undertake re‑active cleaning as a result of anti‑social behaviour, vandalism or accidental spillages, including safe disposal of sharps (e.g. syringes) using CEC safe working procedures.
- Drive vehicles appropriate to licence type held and as directed; carry out daily vehicle checks, present vehicles to workshops when required and complete associated paperwork.
- Open and/or close public conveniences at allocated times and act as a key holder whilst working.
- Collect and distribute stores to PC locations (cleaning materials and consumables) and replenish items such as toilet tissue, hand towels and soap to prevent depletion.
- Carry out visual inspections of facilities, including examination of ball‑cocks and water fittings; undertake minor repairs and maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs/tubes, and report issues.
- Identify repairs and maintenance issues and report these, along with incidents of vandalism, to the line manager; recommend closure for health and safety reasons while repairs are initiated.
- Ensure duties are carried out following CEC safe working practices to protect job holders and the public.
- Deal with the public and handle anti‑social behaviour when required; contact emergency services, departmental and outside agencies as necessary.
- Complete daily paperwork (work sheets, repair books and incident report sheets) where applicable.
- Deal with weather emergencies (ice, snow, flooding, gritting) as required.
- Manage keyholding responsibilities, including operation of security alarm systems, closing accessible windows and doors, and ensuring premises are safe and secure when closing.
Qualifications and Pre‑Employment Checks:
The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both checks being deemed satisfactory.
