Kirkliston Primary School serves the village of Kirkliston and the surrounding rural area and has a wide social mix. The school is part of the Queensferry cluster of schools and is set across two sites with a school roll of over 600 pupils and 22 classes. The two sites include the main primary school hosting Primary 2‑7 and Early Learning and Childcare hosting four Primary 1 classes and a full year nursery with capacity for 113 children from 0‑5 years.
Salary: £40,501 – £47,639 (pro‑rate for part time and sessional). Hours: 18 per week, 40 weeks sessional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in Finance, HR, Information Governance, Resources, Facilities, Information Technology and Health and Safety.
- Maintain and develop operational efficiency across Early Years and Primary.
- Partner with multiple external agencies and contractors.
- Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the school.
Requirements:
- Experience of leading support services in an educational setting desirable; essential evidence of being an effective leader.
- Background in one or more of the key support areas: Finance, HR, Information Governance, Resources, Facilities, IT, Health and Safety.
- Capability to work on‑site and manage day‑to‑day operations independently.
- Will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 scheme or undergo a PVG update check.
- Individuals who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years must provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check.
