Position: Early Years Assistant – Dean Park Primary School
Pay & Hours:
- Salary: £26,806 – £27,032 (pro rata for part time and sessional)
- Hours: 12 per week, 39 weeks sessional
- Preferred work pattern: Monday to Thursday, 10:30am–1:30pm, term time only.
School Overview:
Dean Park Primary School serves the village of Balerno in south-west Edinburgh. The school operates across two sites: a nursery annexe in the heart of the village and the main campus in Marchbank housing estate. We currently have capacity for 88 full‑time children in our nursery and a roll of 504 primary pupils. Our main campus is undergoing an exciting expansion, with six new classrooms due for completion this year. Dean Park Primary is a vibrant, inclusive school with a strong sense of community and shared purpose. Job Profile:
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Assistant to support children's learning and wellbeing within a nurturing early‑years environment. The successful candidate will be a positive team player with a genuine passion for helping children thrive.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
- The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
- Candidates who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last five years must provide an overseas criminal record check prior to offer.
- Successful completion of these checks is a pre‑requisite for an unconditional offer.
