The mission of the Coutts Foundation is to support sustainable approaches to tackle the causes and consequences of poverty, supporting the communities in which Coutts operates. The Foundation currently focuses on work that supports vulnerable women and girls, work that engages and empowers young people through the performing arts, and homelessness in Westminster through The Connection at St Martin’s.
We are looking for an Arts Trustee and a Finance, Audit and Investment Trustee to join the Board who are able to give a fresh perspective. Both Trustees must be comfortable challenging at senior level and have the ability to act with tact and diplomacy representing the Foundation appropriately at all times.
- Arts Trustee
- Deep understanding of the grassroots performing arts sector principally within regional community-based youth projects.
- In-depth knowledge of the voluntary sector and grant-making.
- Experience of arts for social change (disadvantaged and marginalised groups).
- Ability to assist in developing the art portfolio nationally.
- Finance, Audit and Investment Trustee
- Experienced board member.
- Highly numerate with an understanding of financial accounts preferably within a grant making environment.
- Understanding of charity finance (SORP) and particularly charity investment.
- Excellent working knowledge of financial reporting.
- Willingness to become the Chair-designate of the Audit, Finance and Investment Committee and lead on the audit process.
You will be expected to commit 8-10 days per year. Meetings are held in person if possible; however, given the national reach of the Foundation, should an individual not be based in London, attendance at every meeting in person is not a pre-requisite.
We are committed to continuing to reflect the diversity of the communities the Foundation serves and are looking for individuals who are passionate about this too. We are keen to hear how you think your work and lived experience make you suitable for the role and would especially welcome applications from people based in the local communities, and those from traditionally underrepresented groups.
For more information about the role, a full candidate pack and details on how to apply can be accessed here.
We are committed to providing reasonable adjustments throughout our recruitment process and we’ll always endeavour to be as accommodating as possible. If you would like to discuss any specific requirements, please get in touch with Rebecca Davy (rebecca@bamerecruitment.com).
