The GLA plays a key role at the heart of London government and is responsible for policy and delivery across a range of areas that make a difference to those who live in, work in and visit the capital – this includes environment, transport, health, sport, planning, regeneration and culture.

Shakira Keddo, newly appointed Assistant Director of People is leading the most significant transformation of people services since the GLA’s inception in 2000. The Greater London Authority is now looking for an experienced recruiter to lead the Talent and Strategic Resourcing team. This is a hugely challenging and exciting role as it will lead on the repositioning of the recruitment and talent activities for the GLA.

As the Strategic Resourcing and Talent Lead, you will support Shakira in her leadership role as a member of the senior management team. You will have the opportunity to shape and implement the talent and resourcing strategies for the GLA and ensure the GLA’s talent acquisition is targeted at deploying a diverse and skilled workforce to meet current and future organisational needs.

This role will work closely with other senior leadership team colleagues including Strategic Business Partners, Capability and Leadership Manager and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager to ensure cohesive and integrated approaches to people strategies and initiatives. It will also work with senior managers across the organisation contributing to succession planning.

Executive, senior management and board recruitment will all be directed by the successful applicant for this position together with leading the development of our employer branding. The demands on our HR team to create appropriate services that meet the needs of both the organisation and our workforce have probably never been greater than they are now.

You will require determination, imagination, creativity and resilience to handle the pace and the scrutiny of our work. In return, you will have a high‑profile and visible platform to build on all the lessons learnt from your wide-ranging career in people management and to make a full contribution to work across the wider GLA family in our work individually and collectively to deliver leading edge HR practice.

We will offer you a supportive environment as part of the senior management team, and together, we will drive the changes required to realise the GLA’s ambitions for the people, communities, visitors, learners, and businesses of London and to be an employer of choice for our current and prospective workforce.

If you are excited by this proposition, we would be delighted to hear from you.

This role will be based at City Hall, in the Royal Docks (Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE). GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.

London’s diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to ensure our workforce reflects London’s diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability. We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority ethnic candidates and disabled candidates who are currently underrepresented in our workforce. We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.

In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan and a career average pension scheme.
