In line with Mayoral priorities, the GLA Regeneration Unit works with partners to deliver innovative projects through the Good Growth Fund that empower people, make better places and grow prosperity. In the context of recovery from the impacts of the pandemic, the Unit also leads on delivery of the High Streets for All Mission – working across London government and with London’s diverse communities to establish new, exciting and experimental uses across London’s high streets and public spaces.
As a Senior Project Officer, you will develop a range of partnerships and a portfolio of investments and initiatives with the aim of enabling ‘Good Growth’, i.e., successful, inclusive and sustainable places of high quality for the benefit of all Londoners. You will focus on tangible improvements that make a real difference to Londoners' everyday experience. This role provides a unique opportunity for a talented individual with an ability to combine strategic thinking with practical capabilities.
You will develop complex projects and related research to promote urban regeneration and economic growth. You will be well versed in effective and inclusive partnership working, and you will be an effective promoter of the diverse needs and aspirations of London’s communities. Most of all, you will be passionate about London and its many diverse places.
You will also have an ability to communicate, negotiate with and influence a diverse range of people, as well as experience of problem solving and organising a varied workload in a fast-moving context. You will also have experience of research and analysis and be proficient in using a range of IT software including project management, drawing and desktop publishing packages.
This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL). At present, GLA staff are working largely from home, with office space available. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be moving to hybrid working; as part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
