Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of key projects, including the Mayor’s Good Work Standard, working with prospective and existing accredited employers to help them model best employment practice.
  • Support City Hall’s interaction with the Living Wage campaign and Living Wage City Programme, and help devise and deliver new charters for good work for Creative Freelancers, On‑Demand Workers and microbusinesses.
  • Brief colleagues, senior officials and external audiences on relevant developments in employment practice, developing lobbying lines and responses to public correspondence and Mayor’s Questions.

Requirements

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience delivering multi‑faced projects.
  • Knowledge and interest in employment policy and wider fairness issues in the economy.

Work Conditions

This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL). Most GLA staff work hybrid, up to 3 days a week in our offices, with the remaining time spent remotely.
