The GLA’s migration team is seeking to recruit an experienced officer to work on supporting new arrivals from Hong Kong. We are looking for someone with an excellent understanding of the policy issues impacting Hongkongers and experience of developing policy or projects within a political environment. We particularly welcome applications from people with experience of migration and from within the Hong Kong community.

The successful candidate will deliver projects that contribute to the welcome and integration of new arrivals from Hong Kong. They will be expected to work strategically with other departments and stakeholders to support Hongkongers to navigate their new city, access rights and entitlements, and feel belonging.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver projects that contribute to the welcome and integration of new arrivals from Hong Kong.
  • Work strategically with other departments and stakeholders to support Hongkongers in navigating their new city, accessing rights and entitlements, and fostering a sense of belonging.

This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL). GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
