Are you passionate about improving access to substance misuse services to migrants rough sleeping in London? We are looking for a proactive and self‑motivated person, with strong problem‑solving, influencing and negotiating skills, to join the Greater London Authority’s team working on supporting people who are rough sleeping in London.
Working closely with other relevant teams in the Greater London Authority, boroughs, relevant health partners and the voluntary sector, you will lead work on pan‑London migrant rough sleeping and substance misuse. Your work will be part of a Pan London Drug and Alcohol programme for people who sleep rough. You will develop a programme of work which will include collating and promoting best practice and improving the awareness of migrants’ entitlements to substance misuse support and the services available to migrant rough sleepers.
Your work will ensure the GLA is able to deliver on the Mayor’s Social Integration Strategy ‘All of Us’ and the Mayor’s Rough Sleeping Plan of Action. You will have experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships and an understanding of the complex stakeholder landscape in London in the area of substance misuse support for rough sleepers. You will work closely with officials from the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), substance misuse commissioners and providers, Integrated Care Systems networks, homeless health, housing and public health leadership.
This post is funded by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) for 12 months and it is open to secondment options. This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL). GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
