We are looking for two highly organised and enthusiastic individuals interested in developing their project management skills, to join us to support the delivery of business support projects across London.

Permanent role will support with a diverse range of projects that support London’s small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Fixed term or secondment (until September 2023) part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Will work fully on a project that is co-funded by the ERDF and the Mayor of London. This is delivered by an external delivery partner across five sites across the capital.

We are therefore looking for an individual who will be able to support with operational and administrative tasks as well as ongoing monitoring, compliance, verification, recording, analysis and reporting of the project. Attention to detail and proficient use of MS products especially Excel is essential.

This role will contribute to the delivery of programmes and projects that will help to ensure delivery of the Mayor’s manifesto commitments supporting small businesses in the capital to grow as well as the London Economic Action Partnership (LEAP)’s priorities to support enterprise and entrepreneurship.

Both roles will work closely with their associated Project Managers to manage stakeholders, set up robust monitoring and reporting systems and ensure that we - and our delivery partners comply with funding guidelines. They will also be responsible for organising regular project update meetings and ensuring that the partners keep on track and report back in a timely manner.

The successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to work flexibly across multiple policy issues and projects, to understand and effectively communicate complex ideas to others, build and nurture strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, reflecting the political context in which we work. The ability to multi-task and having good attention to detail are essential.

They will have an understanding of the economic policy issues facing London today and an interest in project management. Experience in working with European Funds (for the fixed term role) and a knowledge and interest in entrepreneurship and small-medium-sized enterprises of diverse backgrounds is also desirable.

This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL). GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
