The Mayor wants to make London a zero-carbon city by 2030, while at the same time protecting the most disadvantaged by tackling fuel poverty. The COVID-19 pandemic presented London with its most challenging period in recent history and London’s recovery will be based on delivering a Green New Deal and a robust safety net for all Londoners. Through his energy programmes, the Mayor is addressing fuel poverty, scaling up energy efficiency retrofit and increasing solar generation to help cut energy bills and carbon, and create new green jobs. This post will play a role in achieving this.
Over a million Londoners live in fuel poverty. The Mayor’s Warmer Homes and Warmer Homes Advice Service programmes help fuel poor Londoners to lower their bills and have warm homes. Home energy efficiency is also key to delivering London’s Green Recovery and making London zero-carbon. We have been successful in securing significant funding to deliver large-scale domestic energy efficiency programmes and you would be part of a team delivering these. You will analyse and deploy data to deliver these objectives and work closely with London boroughs and other stakeholders.
