The GLA plays a key role at the heart of London government and is responsible for policy and delivery across a range of areas that make a difference to those who live in, work in and visit the capital – this includes environment, transport, health, sport, planning, regeneration and culture.
The GLA is transforming its current Human Resources and Organisational Development function into a new People Function. As part of this transformation, all volume recruitment activity will be delivered under a shared service with Transport for London. All board and executive recruitment will be retained within the GLA's People Function and this role will lead that activity.
Reporting to the Resourcing and EVP Specialist, you will coordinate the provision of a comprehensive resourcing function in relation to board and executive roles to deliver effective recruitment and selection processes. The successful candidate for this role will also manage candidate onboarding, liaising with colleagues at Transport for London to ensure onboarded appointees are set up on SAP HR in a timely fashion.
You will have a methodical and organised approach with the ability to provide expert advice on resourcing options, recruitment scheduling, job adverts, assessment methods, interview questions and appointment procedures to a range of senior staff across the organisation. You will also lead all aspects of pre-employment checks including social media and online presence checks in accordance with the Protocol on Mayoral Appointments.
Confident with data, you will also be responsible for the production of statistics associated with board and executive recruitment including analysis of diversity information, cost per hire and time to hire.
We will offer you a supportive environment as part of the senior management team, and together, we will drive the changes required to realise the GLA's ambitions for the people, communities, visitors, learners, and businesses of London and to be an employer of choice for our current and prospective workforce.
If you are excited by this proposition, we would be delighted to hear from you. For more information about the role, you can read further below or for a confidential conversation, contact Shakira Keddo at Shakira.keddo@london.gov.uk.
This role will be based at City Hall, in the Royal Docks (Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE). GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
London's diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to ensure our workforce reflects London's diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability. We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority ethnic candidates and disabled candidates who are currently underrepresented in our workforce.
We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part-time work as this role is open to job share.
In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days' annual leave, interest-free season ticket loan, interest-free bicycle loan and a career average pension scheme.
