Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to support a high-performing team in Glasgow. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to Underwriters, assisting with negotiation of rates, terms, and conditions for new and existing business.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Underwriters and other internal stakeholders.
  • Support decision-making by understanding and working in line with the annual business plan.
  • Positively promote the department and organisation to enhance professional reputation.
  • Ensure adherence to underwriting standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Keep up to date with market trends and demonstrate awareness of the insurance cycle.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous administrative experience in a corporate environment, ideally within insurance or financial services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Proactive attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow within the role.
