Our client is seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the development and delivery of Finance and Corporate Data products within a collaborative Agile environment. This role will focus on driving the evolution of data and finance platforms that enable trusted, high-quality, and accessible data across the organisation. Working closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and development teams, the successful candidate will shape product strategy, prioritise delivery, and ensure data capabilities support analytics, machine learning, operational efficiency, and insight-driven decision-making. The role is ideal for a commercially minded Product Owner with strong experience managing data-focused products, backlogs, and cross-functional stakeholder relationships in modern cloud and Agile environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the product backlog for Finance and Corporate Data platforms.
  • Translate business objectives and stakeholder requirements into prioritised user stories and actionable delivery plans.
  • Work closely with Finance, data engineering, analytics, and technology teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
  • Drive the development of high-quality, accessible, and trusted data products.
  • Support the delivery of analytics, reporting, machine learning, and customer insight capabilities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define product vision, roadmap priorities, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Ensure continuous product delivery aligned with Agile methodologies and enterprise goals.
  • Partner with development teams to maximise product value while balancing technical and commercial priorities.
  • Support data governance, compliance, and quality initiatives across platforms and reporting environments.
  • Use analytics and performance insights to inform prioritisation and product improvement decisions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Data Product Owner, or similar product-focused role.
  • Strong experience working within Agile software delivery environments.
  • Experience managing Finance, data, or analytics products and platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, APIs, and data engineering workflows.
  • Knowledge of data quality frameworks, data lineage, and data governance principles.
  • Experience using BI and analytics platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Strong backlog management and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven product decisions.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards including GDPR and related data governance frameworks.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to machine learning, advanced analytics, or AI-enabled data products.
  • Experience working within highly collaborative, cross-functional technology teams.
