Our client, a leading organisation within the insurance sector, is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join their technology services function. This is a permanent, hybrid role based in London, with flexible working arrangements available. The role sits within a transformation-focused team supporting insurance, customer, and pricing initiatives, and is central to delivering large-scale technology and business change programmes. Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver complex programmes and projects to achieve defined business outcomes
  • Provide leadership and oversight to a team of project managers
  • Build strong partnerships with senior business stakeholders and act as a primary point of contact
  • Manage multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Oversee programme governance, including risk (RAID), financials, and resource management
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication and stakeholder engagement plans
  • Align programme activities with business objectives and ensure clear delivery of benefits
  • Collaborate with internal delivery teams and external vendors to drive successful outcomes
  • Support the development of business cases and strategic recommendations for senior leadership
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across processes and programme delivery

Requirements

  • Extensive programme management experience within a change or transformation function
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex programmes with multiple dependencies
  • Experience within general insurance, ideally in the UK commercial or SME market
  • Strong background in managing technology and IT transformation initiatives
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) and governance frameworks
  • Experience managing budgets, financials, and vendor relationships
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working with architecture teams to align technical solutions with business outcomes
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver results in fast-paced environments
  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship may be considered at the client’s discretion)
