Overview

Our client is seeking a Police Staff Investigator (PIP Level 1) to join their Managed Incident Team. This role involves conducting investigations into volume and priority crime, gathering and assessing evidence, and supporting decisions around charges. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals with investigative skills to contribute to public safety and community confidence.

Flexible and part-time working arrangements will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations into volume and priority crime, ensuring thorough and accurate casework
  • Gather, analyse, and document evidence, including witness statements, physical evidence, and suspect interviews
  • Work closely with supervising officers and the Crown Prosecution Service to support charging decisions
  • Maintain accurate records in line with policies, procedures, and evidential requirements
  • Collaborate with colleagues across policing teams to ensure effective case progression

Requirements

  • Proven investigative ability, ideally within a policing or related environment
  • Strong analytical and evidence-gathering skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team
  • Must have resided in the UK for at least the last 3 years (to meet vetting requirements)
  • Salary range: £29,109 – £31,296 per year (pro-rata for part-time)
  • Permanent contract with 37 hours per week (flexible working options available)
