First Contact Enquiry Officer – Police Staff

About the Role
Our client is seeking a First Contact Enquiry Officer to act as the initial point of contact for members of the public—both in person and over the phone. You will provide a professional, welcoming service, record incident information accurately, and support a full range of front-counter duties.
This role plays a vital part in helping the organisation support local communities and maintain public confidence.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high-quality first point of contact for visitors and callers
- Record and manage reported incidents accurately
- Carry out the full range of Front Counter duties
- Deliver a positive, supportive and professional experience to all service users
What We’re Looking For
You must provide four examples (up to 500 words each) demonstrating your experience in:
- Customer service
- Communication skills
- Use of initiative
- Computer skills
Important: Applications without all four examples cannot be progressed.
Additional Requirements
If shortlisted, you will complete a work-based test, including:
- Typing minimum 30 wpm
- Accurate spelling and keyboard skills
- Ability to take information over the phone while typing

Vetting Requirements
- Applicants must have lived in the UK for at least the last 3 years
- All employment offers are subject to vetting under the organisation’s Police Vetting Policy
- Current OPCC staff: service length and tenure will be recognised
