Our client is seeking a Buyer to join their centralised Procurement function on a full-time, permanent basis. This opportunity has arisen due to an internal move and offers the chance to step into a well-established, high-impact role within a mature procurement operating model.

Reporting to a Procurement Category Manager, the Buyer will play a key role in delivering value-led procurement projects, supporting stakeholders, and driving commercial excellence across indirect spend categories, with a particular focus on IT procurement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement projects and value-generation initiatives within a defined indirect spend area, with a focus on IT.
  • Act as a trusted commercial advisor to stakeholders, providing guidance on procurement policies, processes, and best practice.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end tender activity, including scope development, supplier due diligence, negotiation, and approval recommendations.
  • Leverage spend across multiple business units to deliver optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Proactively identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes.
  • Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an indirect procurement or buying role; exposure to IT procurement is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent analytical capability, attention to detail, and commercial judgement.
  • Self-motivated and able to operate independently in line with agreed category strategies.
  • A resilient, curious mindset with a genuine interest in learning and continuous improvement.
