Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior User Researcher to join their growing consultancy team. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about designing services that put users first, applying research insights to complex problems, and influencing decision-making at a senior level.
As a Senior User Researcher, you will work within multi-disciplinary Agile teams, lead research strategies, mentor colleagues, and advise clients on embedding user-centred design. You’ll be a key advocate for accessibility, inclusivity, and research excellence while helping shape services that deliver meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead user research across projects, using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Translate research findings into actionable insights that influence service design and delivery.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, developers, and other specialists in Agile environments.
- Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, managing expectations and influencing direction.
- Champion inclusive and accessible design, including researching the needs of users requiring assisted digital solutions.
- Provide leadership through mentoring, line management, and coaching other researchers.
- Contribute to thought leadership, recruitment, events, and business development activities.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in user research methodologies, applied in complex environments.
- Proven ability to lead research within multi-disciplinary Agile teams.
- Experience of championing user-centred design and service design approaches.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage conflict and deliver difficult messages sensitively.
- Experience in line management, mentoring, or training other researchers.
- Good understanding of accessibility needs, inclusive design, and how to apply these in practice.
- Strong consultancy and leadership skills, with confidence in problem exploration and solution development.
Competitive salary of £57,000 – £64,000.
