An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Business Analyst with strong experience in User‑Centred Design (UCD) environments. This role is ideal for an experienced business analysis professional who is passionate about understanding user needs, shaping digital services, and driving successful delivery within multidisciplinary agile teams.

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in translating user and business needs into actionable requirements, facilitating collaboration across stakeholders, and helping organisations deliver impactful digital products and services.

Responsibilities

Business Analysis & User-Centred Design

  • Collaborate closely with designers and researchers to develop and test early product concepts and service improvements.
  • Translate user research findings into actionable requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead the creation of artefacts such as user journeys, process maps, service blueprints, and workflow diagrams to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyse complex business problems and develop clear recommendations aligned with user and organisational needs.
  • Gather, document, and validate requirements using appropriate analysis techniques.

Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation

  • Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and collaborative working groups with clients and delivery teams.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.
  • Support stakeholders in understanding and adopting user‑centred design principles and best practices.
  • Manage competing priorities and help teams align around shared objectives.

Agile Delivery & Product Support

  • Partner with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, and multidisciplinary teams to establish and manage prioritised backlogs.
  • Support agile delivery processes and help select the most appropriate delivery approaches for projects.
  • Define success measures and track outcomes to ensure work delivers value.
  • Contribute to product strategy, prioritisation, and roadmap discussions.

Leadership & Community Development

  • Coach and mentor Business Analysts and other team members.
  • Share best practices and contribute to the growth of internal business analysis communities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across projects and delivery teams.
  • Help establish and promote high standards of business analysis practice.

Requirements

  • Significant experience working as a Business Analyst within user‑centred design and digital delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of user‑centred design methodologies and their application throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Experience working closely with service designers, user researchers, and product teams.
  • Ability to influence research planning and challenge assumptions to ensure robust decision‑making.
  • Experience applying service design standards, including Government Digital Service (GDS) standards or similar frameworks.
  • Strong requirements elicitation and analysis skills, with the ability to select appropriate techniques based on project needs.
  • Experience analysing qualitative and quantitative data, including user research insights, analytics, and performance metrics.
  • Proven experience operating within agile delivery environments.
  • Excellent workshop facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting client engagement activities, including proposal development and consultancy‑led initiatives.
  • Ability to define project objectives and align delivery activities with strategic outcomes.
  • Experience contributing to professional communities of practice.
  • Knowledge of digital transformation programmes within public or private sector environments.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior colleagues.

Working Arrangements

  • Candidates should be located within reasonable commuting distance of a UK office location.
  • Travel to client sites and office locations may be required depending on project needs.
  • Flexibility to attend office or client locations approximately two days per week where required.
