Overview
Our client is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join its Managed Services team. This is a strategic technical role, offering leadership across multiple client engagements in the public and private sectors. The successful candidate will guide DevOps practices, ensure robust system development, and drive automation and infrastructure-as-code adoption. The role also includes mentoring other engineers and contributing to internal capability development.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert in cloud engineering and DevOps methodologies.
- Drive user-focused software development in line with business requirements and industry best practices.
- Promote infrastructure-as-code and automation across platforms and projects.
- Engage in hands-on engineering across varied platforms, languages, and frameworks.
- Lead and mentor technical teams, fostering best practices in cloud architecture and platform development.
- Participate in recruitment, professional development, and internal community initiatives.
- Contribute to business growth through bid writing and technical proposal development.
- Represent the engineering discipline through thought leadership, blogging, and speaking events.
Candidate Requirements
- Expert proficiency in Azure cloud services and Azure DevOps.
- Strong experience in CI/CD pipeline development, particularly with GitLab CI/CD.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration tools.
- Advanced skills in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
- Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL, Alpine) and GitLab Runner configuration.
- Familiarity with integrated testing tools (e.g., PyTest, Selenium).
- Experience implementing monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Understanding of cloud security practices (TLS, secret management).
- Skilled in using GitLab API for automation and reporting.
- Knowledge of software security compliance and approval processes.
- Experience with Apache Tomcat, SIP, RTF, or telephony systems.
