Overview
Our client, a UK-based digital consultancy, is seeking an Intermediate User Researcher to join their growing user-centred design practice. This role is suited to an experienced practitioner who is confident planning and delivering user research and is ready to further develop their consultancy skills while influencing service and product design decisions. You will work closely with designers, product owners, developers, and delivery teams to generate evidence-based insights that shape inclusive, effective digital services.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a range of user research activities to inform service and product design.
- Select and apply appropriate qualitative and quantitative research methods across different stages of the service lifecycle.
- Build empathy within delivery teams by clearly communicating user needs, behaviours, and pain points.
- Support and facilitate usability testing and evaluation sessions.
- Use a variety of research tools to collect, analyse, and synthesise data into clear findings.
- Produce high-quality research reports and present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Translate research findings into actionable design and business recommendations.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary Agile teams, contributing to user-centred design processes.
- Use research insights and service metrics to define, improve, and iterate services.
- Facilitate workshops with teams and stakeholders to share insights and align on next steps.
- Contribute to the wider research and design community by sharing best practice and learning.
Requirements
User Research Expertise
- Experience delivering user research using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Working knowledge of user-centred design principles and practices.
- Experience testing services and products throughout design and delivery phases.
Stakeholder & Consultancy Skills
- Experience working with and presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to explain research findings clearly and respond constructively to challenge.
- Understanding of client strategic objectives and how research insights support them.
- Strong communication skills, with confidence presenting insights and recommendations.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary Agile teams.
- Willingness to continuously learn and develop as both a researcher and consultant.
