The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.

The ideal candidate will have excellent creative thinking skills and be able to create designs based on conversations with a client. The candidate should be confident communicating regularly with the client in order to assess their needs and be able to adjust a given approach based on feedback. The candidate should maintain familiarity with the interior design landscape and trends in order to provide the best ideas for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Create attractive designs and layouts for various projects.
  • Meet with client in order to understand the client's objectives and desires.
  • Communicate effectively with client, vendors and team in order to address client's needs.
  • Prepare presentations (3D, 2D, mock-ups and renderings) for clients.
  • Create quotes for clients and ensure full workflow is followed.
  • Maintain industry knowledge in order to stay relevant.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Homes Designer to create trauma-informed homes for beneficiaries and their children. This includes:
  • Coordinating product donations to the warehouse, contacting suppliers, checking quality and quantity, and keeping accurate records on our inventory system.
  • Setting up and managing schedules for each home project.
  • Putting online wish lists together and ordering furniture/furnishings that are needed.
  • Drawing up basic floor plans for home projects.
  • Booking trades people and transport.
  • Picking items, packing in preparation for installs and unpacking stock.
  • Assisting with the coordination of volunteers on home projects.
  • Working alongside staff and volunteers to install healing homes in one day.
  • Recording and creating social media content from home projects.
  • Inputting accurate referral information and impact measurements for each project onto our database.
  • After probation, attending initial home visits and carrying out surveys of homes.

Candidate profile:

  • You are committed to our vision and mission. You want to help us create a future where furniture poverty and gender-based violence no longer exist, and where no usable furniture ends up in landfill.
  • You have at least one year’s interior design experience in residential settings, with an understanding of what’s required to produce beautiful, practical homes for everyday family life in a range of styles.
  • You’re non-judgmental, discrete, compassionate and committed to anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice. You must be able to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information. A DBS certificate and confidentiality agreement will be required for this role.
  • You get things done. You’re a problem solver with excellent attention to detail and able to use your initiative.
  • You remain calm under pressure with good time management skills, able to prioritise competing needs.
  • You’re a team player. You work well with others and are happy to get involved in the odd task outside your core role to support the team.
  • You are happy with manual handling and physical activity such as moving furniture, putting up curtains, packing boxes, cleaning etc.
  • You are a competent user of AutoCAD software.
  • You have good IT skills. Confident working with databases and spreadsheets, as well as taking high quality photographs and video for social media.
  • You are willing to travel across London and work in a variety of home locations.
  • You are available to work the occasional weekend or evening when required.
  • You have a full driving licence as you may be required to drive a car or van at times.
  • You have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in related field.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong creative and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute.
