Overview
Our client is seeking a strategic and commercially driven Head of Market Development to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering their growth ambitions across the UK and international markets. This is a senior leadership position at the heart of the organisation’s commercial strategy. The successful candidate will lead market development and business development functions, build high-impact partnerships, and identify new revenue opportunities that support long‑term sustainability, brand strength, and mission delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute growth-focused market and business development strategies across domestic and international markets.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new commercial opportunities through market research, insight, and data‑led analysis.
- Lead, develop, and motivate a high‑performing market development and business development team.
- Establish and manage strategic commercial partnerships, sponsorships, and alliances to maximise long‑term value and revenue.
- Create and oversee market development plans aligned to organisational strategy and growth objectives.
- Monitor pipeline performance, market activity, and key commercial metrics to inform senior leadership decision‑making.
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to align commercial, product, and marketing activity.
- Oversee budgets, forecasting, and financial performance to ensure targets are achieved and resources are effectively allocated.
- Act as a senior ambassador for the organisation, building strong external relationships and influencing at executive level.
Requirements
- Extensive experience delivering revenue growth within a B2B environment.
- Proven success leading and developing high‑performing commercial or business development teams.
- Strong track record in building and managing strategic commercial partnerships.
- Demonstrable experience entering, developing, and scaling international markets.
- Excellent analytical and strategic planning capability, including market analysis and pipeline forecasting.
- Highly developed stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to influence at senior and executive level.
- Proactive, commercially astute mindset with confidence managing opportunity, risk, and ambiguity.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
Hybrid working model with flexibility (1–2 days per week in the London office). 25 days annual leave, increasing by one day per year up to a maximum of 30 days, plus bank holidays.
