Our client is seeking a Counselling Experiential Learning Facilitator to support counselling students as they develop the reflective, ethical, and professional competencies required for clinical practice. This role involves facilitating experiential learning sessions that help students integrate psychodynamic theory, reflective practice, and ethical counselling standards. The successful candidate will create a safe and supportive learning environment where students can explore personal and professional development while progressing towards competent counselling practice.

This position is offered on a sessional, fixed-term basis until 31 July 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate experiential and process-oriented group sessions for counselling students.
  • Model and encourage reflective practice, supporting students to recognise emotional triggers, professional boundaries, and responses within therapeutic settings.
  • Support the integration of psychodynamic theory, experiential learning, and professional practice standards.
  • Monitor and support students’ emotional wellbeing, engagement, and professional development during experiential sessions.
  • Promote ethical counselling practice and ensure alignment with professional ethical frameworks.
  • Contribute to students’ progression toward fitness to practise within counselling training programmes.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold recognised counselling ethical standards.
Requirements
  • Significant post-qualification experience working psychodynamically in clinical counselling practice.
  • Experience facilitating groups, ideally experiential, process-oriented, or training-based groups.
  • Membership of a recognised professional counselling body with an ethical code, such as: British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), or another relevant professional organisation.
  • Ability to support students developing safe, ethical, and competent counselling practice.
