Our client, an established further education provider, is seeking a Maths Lecturer to join its teaching team from August 2026.
About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver GCSE Maths and Functional Skills teaching to mixed-ability groups, including learners aged 16–18 and adult students. The role will involve planning coherent programmes of study, assessing progress and creating an inclusive learning environment that supports every learner in reaching their potential. Teaching will primarily take place during the day, with some evening delivery required where necessary.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Maths teaching and assessment to learners on vocational programmes from entry level to Level 2.
- Teach GCSE Maths and Functional Skills to mixed-ability groups of 16–18-year-old and adult learners.
- Plan programmes of study and produce appropriate assessment schedules.
- Design and implement schemes of work that provide a clearly sequenced curriculum.
- Monitor, record and evaluate learner progress accurately at every stage.
- Recognise and value both incremental and significant learner achievements.
- Support learners in developing broader skills while meeting course, assessment and accreditation requirements.
- Create an inclusive and equitable classroom environment.
- Select diverse and relevant teaching materials and case studies.
- Use innovative and proactive teaching methods to provide a stimulating learning experience.
- Deliver daytime and evening sessions where required.

- Recent and relevant experience teaching GCSE Maths and Functional Skills.
