Our client is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect (Consultant level) to take end-to-end ownership of solution design across complex, high-impact programmes. This role sits within a growing technology consultancy delivering user-centred digital solutions for public and private sector organisations. You will be responsible for aligning business outcomes, technology strategy, commercial constraints, and architectural governance, while working closely with senior stakeholders and delivery teams. This position is well suited to an experienced technologist who enjoys consulting, shaping solutions, and guiding delivery from concept through to implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of solution architecture from inception through to delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and constraints.
  • Design and document solution blueprints covering business, data, application, and technology architecture views.
  • Communicate architectural decisions effectively through governance boards, stakeholder forums, and delivery teams.
  • Support and assure delivery teams in the successful implementation of solution architectures.
  • Balance architectural quality with commercial, financial, and delivery considerations.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant quality, environmental, and information security policies, as well as client standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in solutions architecture, regardless of formal job title.
  • Strong background in software development, system design, and delivery roles.
  • Experience working with agile delivery methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and understand diverse perspectives.
  • Working knowledge of architecture frameworks and modelling languages.
  • Proven ability to guide, influence, and assure delivery teams in implementing architectural solutions.

Consulting & Core Skills

  • Ability to articulate clear, tangible business benefits from architectural proposals.
  • Methodical and structured approach to solving complex technical and business problems.
  • Collaborative, consultative leadership style with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong interest in emerging technologies and their practical application to real-world problems.
  • Experience working with recognised architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or Open Agile Architecture.
  • Experience operating in consultancy or client-facing delivery environments.

Candidates without formal framework experience are still encouraged to apply, as training and coaching can be provided.

Security Requirements

Applicants must either hold active UK Security Clearance (SC) or meet eligibility criteria. Eligibility requires UK citizenship, continuous UK residence for the past five years, and no single absence exceeding 28 consecutive days.
