Overview
Our client, a UK-based digital consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior UX Designer to join their growing design practice. This role is ideal for a senior UX professional who is passionate about people‑centred design and enjoys working within multidisciplinary Agile teams to deliver inclusive, user‑focused digital services. As a senior consultant, you will act as a subject‑matter expert in UX design, lead and mentor designers, influence clients, and champion user‑centred and inclusive design approaches across complex delivery environments.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on solving complex problems using UX design, people‑centred design principles, and Agile methodologies.
- Lead multidisciplinary Agile teams to design and iterate services that meet clearly identified user needs.
- Champion inclusive and accessible design practices across all UX activities.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders, while constructively challenging assumptions and managing difficult conversations.
- Provide line management and mentoring to UX and interaction designers, supporting their professional development.
- Advise colleagues across delivery teams on how to maximise the value of UX design.
- Support recruitment activity, industry events, thought leadership, and new business initiatives.
- Promote the consultancy’s people‑centred design capability internally and externally.
Requirements
UX & Service Design Expertise
- Advanced UX design skills, with experience applying them across a range of sectors and delivery environments.
- Strong experience working within multidisciplinary Agile teams to design and deliver user‑centred services.
- Proven experience designing for diverse user groups, including users with accessibility or assisted digital needs.
- Demonstrated ability to champion UX and service design approaches within organisations and delivery teams.
- Experience line managing, mentoring, or coaching other UX designers.
- Confidence leading design teams and influencing delivery direction.
- Ability to guide teams through complex problem spaces and determine appropriate design approaches.
Stakeholder & Consultancy Skills
- Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to manage conflict with tact and professionalism.
- Strong consultancy mindset, with confidence advising clients and exploring ambiguity to shape effective solutions.
- Good understanding of other Agile roles across design, product, and engineering.
