Our client is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join their Legal & Compliance function on a permanent, full-time basis. This role supports the Senior Legal Counsel across a broad range of legal matters including consumer law, disputes, regulatory compliance, and advertising law. It offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career lawyer to build in-house experience within a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Support with advising on consumer law matters, disputes, regulatory issues, and advertising and marketing law.
- Assist with broader commercial work, including drafting and reviewing sales and distribution agreements.
- Help manage legal and regulatory risk to ensure organisational compliance in the UK and relevant international jurisdictions.
- Provide clear, business-focused legal analysis and written advice.
- Manage a varied caseload, including multiple claims, from initial complaint through to resolution or court judgement.
- Apply knowledge of civil procedure rules and alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Work confidently across different areas of an in-house practice, taking ownership of matters with appropriate supervision.
- Build strong working relationships with management and internal/external stakeholders.
Requirements
- 2–4 years’ post-qualification experience (solicitor or barrister) in the UK or another common-law jurisdiction.
- Experience or strong interest in consumer litigation, regulatory matters, and/or advertising and marketing law.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver concise, commercially relevant advice.
- Good understanding of litigation processes, civil procedure, and alternative dispute resolution.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic in-house environment.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
