Our client, a well-established education provider, is seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to lead its Finance and Procurement functions. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape financial strategy, support organisational transformation, and drive sustainable growth. The successful candidate will combine strategic vision with operational excellence, leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-performing financial and procurement services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategy aligned with organisational objectives
  • Lead treasury management and financial planning to support long-term sustainability
  • Oversee Finance and Procurement functions, ensuring efficiency and high performance
  • Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, policies, and best practice standards
  • Provide strategic financial insight to senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with external partners, agencies, and the wider community
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial processes and reporting
  • Deliver high levels of internal communication and customer service across departments

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPFA or equivalent)
  • Significant experience within the Further Education (FE) sector, including funding rules and regulations
  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role
  • Strong strategic and operational leadership capabilities
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including procurement functions
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of financial governance, compliance, and risk management
