Our client, a well-established education provider, is seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to lead its Finance and Procurement functions. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape financial strategy, support organisational transformation, and drive sustainable growth. The successful candidate will combine strategic vision with operational excellence, leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-performing financial and procurement services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategy aligned with organisational objectives
- Lead treasury management and financial planning to support long-term sustainability
- Oversee Finance and Procurement functions, ensuring efficiency and high performance
- Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, policies, and best practice standards
- Provide strategic financial insight to senior leadership and key stakeholders
- Manage relationships with external partners, agencies, and the wider community
- Drive continuous improvement across financial processes and reporting
- Deliver high levels of internal communication and customer service across departments
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPFA or equivalent)
- Significant experience within the Further Education (FE) sector, including funding rules and regulations
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role
- Strong strategic and operational leadership capabilities
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including procurement functions
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong understanding of financial governance, compliance, and risk management
