Director of Strategic Engagement – Remote, UK – 4 Days a week
£70k – £85k (pro rata, negotiable), Pension, Private Medical Insurance, Life Insurance 4 x Sal, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays (FTE). Option to “buy and sell” holiday.

THE ORGANISATION
Join a pioneering institution that champions the adoption and deployment of Vocational Technology (VocTech) for adult skills development, as Director of Strategic Engagement.
Our client provides grant funding for innovation in addition to investing in VocTech and Edtech companies with the potential to transform learning for work.
They also partner with like-minded organisations across the UK and are leading the conversation around technology for vocational skills development.
THE ROLE
In this role, as Director of Strategic Engagement, you will be working from home as part of a close virtual team of like-minded individuals, committed to making a real impact through their work.
We are offering a permanent role, with a four day working week. We may also consider applicants looking to work three days.
Reporting to the CEO and Board of Trustees, you will directly manage the grants, public affairs and partnerships teams.
Key activities:
- Regular board meetings with SLT / Trustees
- Team management, driving engagement and collaboration
- Regular face to face meetings with the company and team, at various UK locations
- Strategic planning – to achieve the mission
- Ensuring delivery of the annual strategy
- Building impactful partnerships
- High level strategic engagements
- Public speaking and events in the UK and occasionally abroad
THE IDEAL PERSON

- Ability to work in a virtual team four days a week, as Director of Strategic Engagement
- Willing to travel regularly in the UK and occasionally abroad
- Experience of working on a board / in senior leadership teams
- Strategic planning and execution with internal teams and partners
- 2nd line management of small teams
- Industry knowledge in VocTech or EdTech, vocational skills, adult learning
- Partnership development across private, public sector and third sector
- Public advocacy experience
- Public speaking skills
- Strong commitment to the mission of supporting digital tech innovation in vocational skills and a passion for advancing social impact in the education and skills sector.
Please note, this role is remote, UK – 4 Days a week.
