Our client, a leading global university and member of a prestigious academic network, is seeking an exceptional academic leader to serve as
Dean of Medicine
.

This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of a world-renowned Faculty of Medicine, driving innovation in research, education, and knowledge exchange. The successful candidate will build on the institution\’s established global reputation and lead a diverse community committed to excellence, inclusivity, and impact in healthcare and medical science.

As a member of the University Executive Board, the Dean will report directly to the President and Vice-Chancellor, playing a key role in advancing institutional priorities and delivering world-class outcomes in research, teaching, and enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic academic and operational leadership for the Faculty of Medicine.
• Drive excellence across research, education, and knowledge exchange to enhance global reputation and rankings.
• Champion an inclusive and collaborative culture across staff, students, and stakeholders.
• Lead the development of new research initiatives and partnerships with healthcare, government, and industry bodies.
• Oversee financial performance and ensure academic and operational sustainability.
• Represent the Faculty at institutional, national, and international levels, fostering high-impact collaborations.
• Play a key role in the establishment and growth of major institutes and research facilities, including initiatives in medical innovation and cancer immunology.

Requirements

• A distinguished record of academic leadership within medicine or a closely related discipline.
• Proven track record in research, teaching excellence, and knowledge exchange at an international level.
• Demonstrated experience managing large, complex academic or research environments.
• Strong strategic vision, with the ability to drive transformation and growth.
• Inclusive and transparent leadership style that fosters engagement and trust.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build partnerships across academia, government, healthcare, and industry.

This appointment is offered on a tenured basis (initial five-year term, extendable to eight years). Upon completion of tenure, the successful candidate will revert to a substantive Professorial position within the University.
