Our client is seeking a DBS Decision Maker to join a high-performing Disclosure and Safeguarding function within a large public-sector organisation. This role is critical to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, requiring accurate, well-reasoned decision-making as part of the Enhanced Disclosure process.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing sensitive information against legislation and guidance, producing clear written rationales, and ensuring decisions are made to the highest professional and ethical standards.

Responsibilities
- Undertake background checks as part of the Enhanced Disclosure process for individuals applying for regulated roles or licences.
- Assess sensitive information against relevant legislation, policy, and disclosure guidance.
- Make fair, proportionate, and defensible disclosure decisions.
- Produce clear, accurate, and well-structured written rationales to support decision outcomes.
- Manage high volumes of work in line with strict service level agreements and timescales.
- Maintain the highest standards of data accuracy, confidentiality, and information handling.
Requirements
- Experience inputting, extracting, and assessing information from databases against guidance or legislation.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in written and administrative work.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex decisions clearly.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively to deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database systems.
- Eligibility to meet recruitment and management vetting requirements, including UK residency criteria.
