Our client, a leading UK-based technology consultancy, is seeking a Data Analyst – Consultant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical professional who is passionate about transforming data into meaningful insights that drive better decision-making and service improvements. You’ll work on a range of public and private sector projects, using your analytical and technical skills to develop frameworks that measure performance, track key outcomes, and inform strategy. Responsibilities
- Translate complex data into actionable insights to support clients in improving their services.
- Design and implement performance measurement frameworks, including KPIs and OKRs, to track goals and outcomes.
- Use SQL, Python, R, or similar tools to collect, cleanse, and analyse data.
- Visualise data effectively using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or Power Query.
- Identify and validate data sources, ensuring accuracy and relevance for analysis.
- Develop and test hypotheses to uncover trends and insights that inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define metrics that align with user needs and organisational goals.
- Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the ongoing development of data capability within the team.
- Operate within appropriate legal, technical, and ethical constraints, maintaining data security and confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
- Experience designing and implementing performance or analytics frameworks with measurable outcomes.
- Strong understanding of data visualisation techniques and storytelling through tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Proven ability to collect, process, and interpret complex datasets to generate meaningful insights.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify key patterns and opportunities for improvement.
- Experience creating testable hypotheses and presenting findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC) – typically requiring five years of UK residency.
- Understanding of data privacy, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with UK Government Digital Service (GDS) or NHS design principles.
- Experience making data-led recommendations for service or operational change.
