Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Credit Controller to manage credit control and instalment billing activities within a structured finance function. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely cash collection, accurate ledger management, and effective resolution of complex account queries.
The position acts as a bridge between transactional finance activities and internal and external stakeholders, contributing to the overall effectiveness, accuracy, and efficiency of the Credit Control operation.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a portfolio of accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances and accurate cash allocation within core systems.
- Escalate overdue debt or cash allocation issues internally or externally to ensure prompt resolution.
- Review and reconcile intermediary statements, identifying and raising queries using internal tools.
- Analyse recurring queries, identifying root causes and working collaboratively with stakeholders to reduce future issues.
- Maintain accurate customer ledgers and support basic accounts receivable and payable activities where required.
- Develop, maintain, and improve process documentation and user guides in line with internal standards.
- Ensure accurate and timely data capture across all processes to support effective management information.
- Review processes and related data, highlighting risks or inefficiencies and proposing practical improvements.
Requirements
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills with high attention to detail.
- Customer service experience with effective communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to analyse detailed financial and operational reports.
- Previous experience in credit control or within an insurance or financial services environment is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within commercial or specialty insurance markets is advantageous.
- Additional language skills are beneficial but not required.
