Our client is seeking an experienced Agency & Financial Corrections Team Leader to join their Finance function on a full-time, permanent basis, based in Bristol with hybrid working available.
This is a leadership role with responsibility for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and audit readiness of financial data, while maintaining strong relationships with external agencies. You will lead a team responsible for agency debt management and financial corrections, playing a key role in mitigating financial risk and supporting the wider business.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of eight analysts responsible for agency debt management and financial corrections
- Oversee day-to-day team operations, ensuring workloads are prioritised effectively and aligned to business needs
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, appraisals, and development planning
- Set clear objectives and KPIs, driving high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability
- Ensure robust processes are in place to support accurate financial corrections, clear audit trails, and reliable reporting
- Step in to directly handle complex, time-critical, or high-risk cases where required
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis activities
- Contribute to internal and external audit processes, ensuring ongoing audit readiness and compliance
- Analyse large and complex data sets to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Act as a key point of contact for external agencies, resolving issues collaboratively and ensuring effective information exchange
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across Finance and Operations to support end-to-end process improvement
- Contribute to dashboards, reporting, and cross-functional forums to drive continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience in people management within a finance or operations environment
- Demonstrable experience in financial corrections, credit control, or debt management
- Strong data analysis skills, including working with large and complex data sets
- Experience supporting internal or external audits
- Ability to interpret financial data and provide clear, evidence-based insights and recommendations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational, planning, and administrative capability
- Proactive approach to identifying risk and resolving issues
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external agencies
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and wider Microsoft Office tools
- Experience using financial or operational systems (e.g. collections, workflow, or finance platforms)
