Night Shift 19.00 – 06.00 (Monday – Friday). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to progress a career in the logistics industry and to work for one of the UK’s leading logistics companies who are growing rapidly. My well-established national client has over 40 depots, employs 3000 members of staff, completes 400,000 deliveries per year and owns over 4,000 trucks. Due to expansion and progression, they are seeking an experienced Transport operator to join their team at London Gateway depot. All drivers are permanently employed, a regular and reliable sub-contractor base with a fleet of state-of-the-art vehicles.

Duties include:

  • Daily management of the transport plan and ensuring all SLA requirements are adhered to
  • Supporting with planning routes and drivers for up to 30 vehicles daily
  • Communication with the local port and booking entry slots
  • Daily use of companies operating system - TOPS
  • Dealing with drivers face to face and over the phone
  • Liaising with sub-contractors
  • Liaising with clients to ensure timed deliveries are met

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in transport operations and planning, use of computerised systems and an excellent geographical knowledge of the UK. You must be a self-starter, be able to work under pressure and use your initiative to ensure all requirements are met and excellent customer service is delivered at all times.
