Job Description
We are a newly established 2-bed children's home located in Whetstone (N20), committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for vulnerable young people. Our focus is on delivering high-quality care that promotes emotional wellbeing, development, and positive outcomes for every child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, consistent care and support to young people in a residential setting.
- Promote a safe, homely, and nurturing environment.
- Support children with daily routines, including education, appointments, and recreational activities.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Follow individual care plans and risk assessments, ensuring all actions promote the wellbeing and safeguarding of the children.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with regulatory and organisational standards.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and reflective practice.
- Work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (where applicable).
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a residential children's home or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and the challenges faced by vulnerable young people.
- Ideally holds, or is actively working towards, NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, flexible, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Able to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, as part of a rota.
