Job Description

SEND short break service

Experience of SEND essential. Manual handling, first aid and behaviour management training essential, although additional support will also be given. Proficient English and experience of working with non-verbal people is essential. Basic signing is an additional advantage.

Shifts are

To provide support and engagement for children and young people (including post 18 year olds) to access activities within the resource and the community

To provide support and care for children and young people within their own family home.

To work in accordance with the Directorate’s aims and objectives and through adherence to its policies, procedures and practice guidelines

To work with the Children and Young Peoples Services (C&YPS) staff within the Complex Care Needs Team / Transition Team and the wider SEND and Adult Services staff where appropriate, to ensure that resources are available to all relevant children and young people (including post 18 year olds) to live within the community.
