To be responsible for all classroom activities and management, ensuring pupils receive a full, broad, and balanced curriculum differentiated to accommodate their individual needs. To maintain a stimulating and safe environment in accordance with all school policies. To contribute positively to a multi-disciplinary team approach and to always ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a specialist SEN setting, supporting pupils with a range of complex needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop not only academically, but also socially and emotionally, enabling them to achieve their full potential. You will be part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team, working closely with therapists, support staff, and families to deliver a holistic approach to education. The role requires creativity, flexibility, and a commitment to adapting teaching approaches to meet each pupil’s individual needs.
Responsibilities
- To discharge a full, broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum to all pupils
- Ensure that all pupils have all necessary means to access the curriculum and fully participate in activities
- Identify and adopt the most effective teaching approach for individual pupils
- Monitoring teaching and learning to ensure progress towards the learning outcomes identified on the EHCP
- Supporting pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development
- Attend mandatory training and agreed CPD
Essential skills required
- A well-organised and understanding individual with a person-centred approach
- Previous experience of working within a school environment
- A full teaching qualification (QTS)
