Our client is an established UK & IE Logistics Solutions Provider, who due to expansion have an exciting new opportunity available for a Transport Planner. Excellent career progression is available with this growing company.
The successful Transport Planner will have some previous experience of UK transport movements and come from a freight/logistics industry. Must be able to commute to Colnbrook easily and preferably have their own transport.

- 10.00-19.00 1 week
- 1 in 4 Sat Morning on rota
- Salary £34-38k DOE plus Overtime
- 20 days holiday plus BH
Key Tasks
- Review booking emails, respond and update the digital planning schedule with any amendments to the routes of pre-schedule vehicles or names of crews and phone numbers each day.
- Planning and running of the day-to-day transport functions, focusing on optimization, but without compromising customer service.
- Ensure that all delays/daily issues are communicated to the Solutions & Cargo teams each morning in a timely manner, ensure this is completed both verbally and via email.
- Assist in the finalization of all Allocation/Scheduling, providing a final load plan for all vehicles ensuring the most cost-effective utilization.
- Ensure that all sub contracting is justified before booking and job pricing is gained at the time of booking.
- Read or ensure all method statements are read prior to scheduling the jobs and traffic specific actions completed accordingly.
- Read and check all delivery paperwork, checking dates, times, special instructions and equipment required.
- Perform daily driver briefs and debriefs to include the scanning of all tachos.
- When required, assist with any local deliveries if there is a shortage of drivers.
- Collaborate with the Transport Manager with any investigations / escalations.

- In depth knowledge of transport, vehicle routing, scheduling and geographics of UK/IE. A sound knowledge of 'White glove services' would be very beneficial.
Purpose: To perform daily tasks within the transport team. Cost effective scheduling and planning. Plan and answer specific emails in a timely manner to ensure continuity of service to the client, when required make key decisions/provide solutions or escalate to their line manager.
