An exciting new role is available for a Warehouse Team Leader with this well-established Freight Forwarder based within their Contract Logistics Division.
Primary Purpose
Responsible for the day-to-day running of B2B and B2C fulfilment operation, managing the cross dock of cross border shipments including ETSF control. Ensures safe, compliant, timely processing of goods while leading a small team and driving high performance. This is a hands-on operational role.
Key Responsibilities for the Warehouse Team Leader
- B2B and B2C & Warehouse Operations
- Oversee picking, packing, labelling, and daily dispatch.
- Allocate work based on volumes and SLAs.
- Support inbound receiving, put-away, replenishment, and returns.
- Maintain workflow efficiency and escalate risks.
- Monitor UKEUUK freight activities in conjunction with Cross border team.
- Ensure maximum trailer space utilisation by overseeing load planning, pallet configuration, and consolidation to reduce empty space and optimise each vehicle's capacity.
- Ensure effective loading and offloading of various 3rd party suppliers in line with business requirements is met.
- Ensure restricted access, security, and full audit readiness.
- Manage ETSF operations in line with HMRC regulations.
- Enforce QHSE standards, safe systems of work, and PPE rules.
- Conduct spot checks on accuracy, packaging, and SOP compliance.
- Report incidents/near misses and support corrective actions.
- Maintain 5S and site housekeeping.
- Provide daily updates and track KPIs (accuracy, dispatch, dwell time, exceptions).
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team.
- Conduct briefings, manage rotas, and deliver on-the-job training.
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and accountability.
Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years experience in warehouse, fulfilment, and cross-border freight operations.
- Strong Warehouse Management System skills and good IT literacy (Excel, email).
- Leadership experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- MHE licences; (Counter Balance & Reach forklift).
- Understanding of QHSE principles (manual handling, PPE, LOLER/PUWER).
KPIs
- Order accuracy & on-time dispatch for both warehouse and cross border shipments.
- Customer KPIs for WH activities met.
- Productivity & team performance.
- H&S compliance, incidents, and corrective action closure.
