The general purpose of the role: The Merchandising Planning Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Merchandising team by ensuring efficient production planning, order allocation, and inventory management. This position helps maintain optimal stock levels and production capacity, tracks supplier deliveries, and provides analytical support for sales forecasting to ensure a smooth and efficient production flow.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist in reviewing monthly production plans and adjusting them based on demand.
  • Participate in allocating orders among workshops based on priorities and capacity.
  • Support the re-order process by tracking stock levels and monitoring needs.
  • Provide data support for sales forecasting.
  • Liaise with workshops to track production progress and delivery timelines.
  • Assist in coordinating production schedules with workshops and maintaining accurate delivery records.
  • Maintain and update key tracking files for stock, sales, open orders, and deliveries.
  • Contribute to report generation and maintain production status files to support merchandising activities.
  • Assist in providing lead-time and delivery updates to internal teams.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as needed to support the team.

The main skills and abilities will be:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years experience in Merchandising, Planning, or a high-end retail environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and a problem solving mindset.
  • Effective communicator who is self motivated and eager to learn.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent IT skills and a very strong interest in Jewellery and Diamond knowledge is an advantage.
